Provider type: Therapist
A session with Lori means that you will experience a candid, genuine experience that will keep you pondering even after concluding the visit. You will have a safe space to talk about difficult topics. You will begin to recognize that your day to day interactions include skills and techniques that you practiced during your visits. Goal setting will be an integral part of your treatment so that you continue to recognize the progress from the hard work of therapy.
Lori specializes in dealing with people struggling with chemical dependency and the associated trauma and codependency that results from the often generational impact on families.
Over the past two decades, the clients that have worked with Lori have been able to establish healthy coping skills for daily living, take steps to committing to a recovery based lifestyle, and deal with trauma that has prohibited them from self actualization. By utilizing evidence informed practices such as Motivational Interviewing, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and Mindfulness, clients have been able to restore the peace, joy, and hope that has been lost due to drug and alcohol addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, shame, guilt, racial discrimination, and codependence.
With a Master’s Degree and License in Professional Counseling, Lori has worked for adult corrections, inpatient and outpatient mental health, and was a manager in an outpatient substance abuse treatment facility.
