Laura works primarily with adolescents, young adults, and adults providing individual, couples and family counseling. She treats issues related to trauma, anxiety, depression, women’s health, gender identity, managing chronic illness/injury, breast cancer support, academic & career challenges, and navigating relationship issues. Laura’s counseling style is tailored to each persons’ place of need, working collaboratively to enhance personal growth and healing in a supportive and empathetic environment. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy are some of the therapeutic strategies utilized to assist clients in their growth.
Laura also has a background in higher education, remedial instruction, mental wellness, child advocacy and chronic illness & injury. She has worked in private practice and as a contract agency therapist. As a counselor and adjunct college instructor, Laura has worked within many cultural populations helping students of all ages with a variety of challenges. She has instructed and presented on many topics including mental health/wellness and stress management.
Her Master’s Degree is in Counseling and she holds a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications. Her affiliations include the American Counseling Association, Missouri Mental Health and Counselor Association, St. Louis Psychological Association and Voices for Children/CASA.
