Alexander B. Rose, MD, MPHS is providing psychiatric services for ABC at SSM DePaul Hospital and SSM St. Joseph Hospital working with adult patients on the inpatient psychiatry units. He specializes in a wide variety of psychiatric diagnoses including psychotic disorders (e.g. Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, etc.); mood disorders (Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, etc.); Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD); Anxiety Disorders (e.g. Panic Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, etc.); Trauma Disorders (e.g. PTSD, Adjustment Disorder, etc.); and others. He focuses on careful and correct diagnosis followed by judicious and appropriate use of medication and other interventions as informed by the best available research.
Dr. Rose graduated with a Batchelor of Science in Biology-Neuroscience & a Minor in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis. He then completed his Medical Degree and a Master of Population Health Sciences from Washington University School of Medicine. He went on to complete his residency in psychiatry from Washington University School of Medicine followed by a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry from Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago in 2020. He remains involved in academics as an outside instructor for the psychiatry residency at Washington University.
Dr. Rose has previously worked at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Emergency Department providing psychiatric care. During his residency he taught junior residents and medical students, tutored, published several writings and completed numerous research projects. He is also a member of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law (AAPL), and is accepting referrals for forensic opinions and independent medical examinations (IME).
